John has been a Trustee with the charity since March 2012 and is currently Executive Director of the education charity Racing to School.
An early career in horseracing journalism led to a four-year stint as chief executive of The Professional Jockeys Association.
Recruited as a director for the newly-formed greyhound regulator, John switched to the not-for-profit sector in 2011 to become fundraising director with international equine charity World Horse Welfare. He is now responsible for leading the strategy and development of Racing to School, which supports over 10,000 young people each year through free activity learning days using the assets and networks within the horseracing industry.
