We are seeking a psychiatrist/psychologist with experience in addiction to join our board as our Clinical Governance lead.

Board of Trustee Recruitment (Clinical Experience

The Board of Trustees at Gordon Moody Association have recently undergone a period of change and feel that this is an exciting time to become part of a unique charity providing much needed support to those in recovery from gambling addiction.

Gordon Moody Association has over 40 years’ experience of providing specialised support and treatment to pathological gamblers.  We have developed residential and other treatment interventions that are purely gambling focused and address the extremes of associated behaviours. We provide residential therapeutic care (Tier 4) with associated relapse prevention housing and outreach support.  Our on-line support service, Gambling Therapy supports problem gamblers internationally supported by our Gambling Therapy App.  We also provide a Mixed Model of Care (MMOC) retreat programme for women and men, which provides 12 weekly therapy sessions combined with two short stay residential workshops.

The Board of Gordon Moody Association are now seeking to appoint a new Trustee who is clinically qualified, either as a psychiatrist or psychologist, with a background in addiction services.  This role is critical to ensure that the charity’s services have sufficient professional clinical oversight and that clinical governance is at the heart of the organisation.  As a Trustee you will also help to ensure that resources are utilised wisely to achieve the purpose of GMA.  Experience of working with/treating gambling problems would be ideal but not essential.

As a Trustee, you should be able to make a commitment to the Charity, its purpose and values to ensure that it is effectively managed in line with its core values and in line with charity commission rules and regulations. You will need to have strategic vision, independent judgement and an ability to think creatively.

If you would like to make a serious contribution to those addicted to gambling, please apply by sending an up-to-date CV together with a cover letter stating why you are interested and what experience you have to Adele Duncan, Chief Executive, at [email protected].  If you have any queries or wish to discuss the role further then please do contact Adele on 07377 241292.
